Zoomy-Santa FAQ's

How to book a Zoomy-Santa virtual chat

When you have decided to book a 'Zoomy-Santa interactive video chat, first step is to download & complete a Zoomy-Santa questionnaire, (found on the Zoomy-Santa page of the website).

There are three questionnaires, focussed different demographics, chose the one that most applies to you. The questionnaire has a booking section,  with preferred time & date options and details of who will be attending the chat, as well as choices of durations & costs.

When you have returned the questionnaire, we will send you an email with payment instructions. Once we have received payment, we will send you a link to join a Zoom meeting on the date and time specified.

On the day of the Zoomy-Santa chat, you can click on the link up to five minutes before your allotted time, one of the elves will let you in when Santa is ready for you. (Please don't be late for your meeting as Santa is on a very tight schedule and your time may be reduced if you are running late.)

Then, guess what? You get to talk, face to face to Santa! You can ask him questions about the Reindeer, living in the North Pole, just about anything. Santa is always ready with a song or two, so have those singing pipes warmed up and this might be a good opportunity to ask about that special gift for Christmas.

Some things to consider when booking a Zoomy-Santa interactive Zoom meeting ...

Zoomy-Santa was created to be user friendly, we hope these instructions make it as easy as possible for you to have a magical, virtual meeting with Santa.

Parents and/or guardians are always required to be present during Zoomy-Santa

chats, as we like these event to be a special Christmas event for the whole family.

You will need to have a smart phone, tablet, laptop or PC, with the free Zoom desktop or mobile app loaded to the device. Get some more information and the app here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-meeting

When you get your Zoom app, practice how the app works and how you look in the screen. You can press the join a new meeting button, then become familiar with the layout of buttons like the mute button, camera on/off, also how you look in the frame, especially if there a a number of people you are trying to fit in the meeting.

It really helps to have a good internet connection and you will get a much smoother video stream if you disconnect/turn off other devices using the internet like : cable TV, or other computers that may reduce your bandwidth.

Make sure your laptop or Desktop computer has a working camera, so Santa can see everyone. It can also help, if there are more than a couple of people in the room, to use some louder speakers than the inbuilt ones on the laptop or desktop.

Try to have a light source, (window or light),  in front of the participants, as a bright light behind people will cause shadows on peoples' faces and they will be in silhouette.

If you have further questions, please download &  fill out an inquiry form, there is a section at the end for comments or questions.
